Adjust the gain dial for Channel 1 to a moderate level. Aim for a green flash of light around the dial while speaking into the microphone; if it turns red, slightly reduce the level.
Verify that all switches on the microphone are positioned in the middle. Confirm that the gain switch is set to 0dB.
Create a new mic track without applying plugins or effects, and check if the recording level improves.
